PTX10003
Power-efficient, high-density core router for secure IP/MPLS and hyperscale routing.
Changing market dynamics have intensified the challenge of accommodating growth with traditional products and architectures. Juniper’s secure and automated multicloud solution helps cloud-based networks quickly react to these evolving conditions, accelerating service delivery with world-class products and innovative architectural components. PTX Series Packet Transport Routers with custom ExpressPlus silicon are an integral part of this solution, delivering a massively scalable and efficient core architecture across space- and power-constrained service provider and enterprise networks, reducing TCO with innovative, highly flexible, highperformance platforms that are easy to deploy
The scalable PTX10003 Packet Transport Router delivers critical core routing functions on demand while providing high-density 10GbE, 40GbE, 100GbE, 200GbE, and 400GbE interfaces for distributed core networks and network applications. The router’s compact form factor and power efficiency meets the demands of Internet service providers, cloud providers, cable multiple service operators (MSOs), and high-volume content providers. The PTX10003 offers secure transit, peering, and full IP/MPLS and SPRING applications in the data center edge and content delivery network (CDN) core.
Occupying only 3 U, the PTX10003 is the industry’s first fixed-configuration core router to support 400GbE. It uses a rich IP/MPLS feature set to organically distribute transit points throughout your network without sacrificing performance or deployability, two factors on which your TCO pivots.
The PTX10003 delivers unprecedented power efficiency of 0.2 W per gigabit. It comes in 8-Tbps and 16-Tbps models, both fixed-configuration in a 3 U form factor:
PTX10003 8 Tbps has flexible interface configuration options, with universal multirate QSFP-DD for 100GE/400GE/FlexE to support 160 (QSFP +) 10GbE ports, 40 (QSFP +) 40GbE ports, 80 (QSFP28) 100GbE ports, 32 (QSFP28-DD) 200GbE ports, or 16 (QSFP56-DD) 400GbE ports.
PTX10003 16 Tbps has flexible interface configuration options, with universal multirate QSFP-DD for 100GE/400GE/FlexE to support 320 (QSFP +) 10GbE ports, 80 (QSFP +) 40GbE ports, 160 (QSFP28) 100GbE ports, 64 (QSFP28-DD) 200GbE ports, or 32 (QSFP56-DD) 400GbE ports.
The PTX10003 is powered by our custom ExpressPlus silicon, providing predictable IP/MPLS packet performance and functionality, along with inline AES-256 MACsec encryption on all interfaces.
Performance and Scalability
Delivers the performance and scalability you need to handle increased traffic demands, using custom ExpressPlus silicon for inline MACsec encryption.
High Availability and Nonstop Routing
Supports high-availability (HA) features of Junos OS, enabling software upgrades and changes without interrupting network traffic.
Exceptional Packet Processing
Scales your network while optimizing IP/MPLS functionality for superior performance with 400GbE interfaces.
Compact Form Factor
Provides a space-efficient 3 U design that meets the requirements for full IP/MPLS at peering Internet Exchange points, collocations, central offices, and regional networks, especially in emerging markets.
