The EX4300 line of Ethernet switches delivers the performance, flexibility, and scale required for both campus and data center Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) access switch environments. Whether deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration or as a satellite device in a Juniper Networks Junos Fusion fabric architecture, the EX4300 delivers the operational simplicity and higher logical scale that businesses demand. Combining compact, pay-as-yougrow economics and low power and cooling with the performance, availability, and port densities of chassis-based platforms, the EX4300 enables businesses to deploy with speed and agility to increase revenue and improve productivity


The EX4300 Multigigabit Ethernet Switch is a high-performance access switch for advanced branch or campus deployments. The modern campus environment must adapt to 802.11ac Wave II standards and accommodate access points that require multigigabit speeds and greater power connectivity. The EX4300 Multigigabit switch is a flexible and secure offering for the ever-connected enterprise, supplying a 1680 W Power over Ethernet (PoE) power budget with two power supplies to support high-density IP telephony, surveillance cameras, and/or wireless access point deployments.

The EX4300 Multigigabit switch supports 100 Mbps and 1/2.5/5/10 Gbps speeds using existing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a cabling infrastructure. Uplink modules offer options that include four 10GbE SPF+, two 40GbE QSFP, or one 100GbE QSFP28 port. Power over Ethernet (PoE++) is enabled on all EX4300 Multigigabit access ports based on the 802.3at/af/bt standards for increased usage of up to 95 watts per port. Additionally, all access and uplink ports on the EX4300 Multigigabit switch are MACsec AES256-compliant for increased network security.

Beyond the speeds and feeds of a standalone EX4300 Multigigabit switch, it is also a component of Juniper’s Virtual Chassis technology and Junos Fusion switching architectures, which satisfies a variety of high-performance campus and branch needs. Virtual Chassis technology enables any combination of up to 10 EX3400, EX4300, EX4300 Multigigabit, or EX4600 switches to be interconnected as a single logical device. This delivers a multigigabit solution that is highly scalable and cost-effective for mixed 1GbE/10GbE/40GbE environments. Additionally, the EX4300 Multigigabit switch can be deployed as a satellite device in Junos Fusion Enterprise, which enables up to 128 access switches to be managed as a single management platform.

The EX4300 Multigigabit switch supports the 802.3bt standard for PoE, supplying up to 95 watts per port for increased requirements of devices such as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) terminals, IP phones, and access points.

10GbE/40GbE/100GbE Uplinks

Run higher bandwidth connections to aggregation switches with the flexibility of using 10GbE/40GbE/100GbE uplinks or breakout cables to convert 100GbE ports to 4x25GbE ports.

Virtual Chassis

With Virtual Chassis technology, up to ten interconnected EX4300/EX4300 Multigigabit switches operate as a single logical device, reducing operational expenses and simplifying management.

Near Line-Rate Encryption

Support for IEEE 802.1ae Media Access Control Security (MACsec AES256) for link-layer data confidentiality, data integrity, and data origin authentication enables 88 Gbps of near line-rate, hardware-based traffic encryption on all 1GbE and 10GbE switches.

Centralized Management with Junos Fusion

When deployed as satellite devices in Junos Fusion environment, large numbers of EX4300 Multigigabit switches can be managed from a single interface.
